Awesome Canteen @ Taman Paramount

There are a lot eateries in Petaling Jaya area, and I found another one in Taman Paramount - Awesome Canteen. It's located on the same row as the Chinese restaurant that is infamous for their roast duck - Loong Foong.


Getting a parking space in this area could be challenging, but you can always park you car at the Giant Hypermarket compound. However, if you do plan to go there on a Sunday evening, just plan your timing as there's a night market every Sunday.


They cleverly used salvaged-wood tables and chairs. The place is semi-self service - which means you have to place your order at the counter and they'll serve you the food.

Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese (RM 15.90)

Personally, I find the Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese (RM 15.90) was only average - not too bad, but it's just not memorable, I think.

Beef Paleo Burger (RM 21.90)

Compare to the spaghetti, their Beef Paleo Burger (RM 21.90) was better. A beef patty top with melted cheese and grilled Portobello mushroom. They do not serve burger bun with the burger, as it is a paleo dish - which excludes any agricultural products.


The beef patty was a tad too dry, and I wasn't too sure if the juices running underneath the patty was on purpose. Overall, it's a decent dish still.

Cool Paleo Chicken (RM 18.90)

The Cool Paleo Chicken (RM 18.90) was so far a better dish, compare to others. I ordered this same dish during both of my visits. It is grilled chicken breast with boiled spinach and seaweed sauce. It's a cold dish. I thought that the chicken breast was nicely grilled and the seaweed sauce was light - it's not a heavy dish. I'm a small eater, and this dish was just nice for me.

Overall, I find it's an average eatery and might not be that awesome.
