A Toast @ Jalan Pudu, KL: A Genki Breakfast & Juice Bar at KL

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, don't you agree?

With the busy schedule of today's world, many of us don't have the luxury to enjoy our breakfast - especially on weekdays. Hence, most people will either skip breakfast or resort to something fast and easy that they can grab from the convenient stores. Either way, it is not ideal.

Located along Jalan Pudu, A Toast is a breakfast & juice bar that provides fast and simple yet delicious breakfast options.

A Toast has limited indoor seats, but nothing beats starting a day with delicious breakfast while soaking in the cosy warming sun. No time to sit around for breakfast? Have your breakfast on the go then!

As the name suggested, they offer a series of toasts, salads and wraps along with freshly-squeezed fruit juices and coffees.

Bamboo Charcoal Toast Sandwich (RM 9.30). Scrambled egg and cheese with spicy chicken floss. The mild spiciness of the chicken floss worked perfectly in awakening that taste bud in the morning.

Black Sesame Toast Sandwich (RM 9.30). Sunny side up and chicken ham. Every bite was just bursting with nutty and smoky flavours of the sesame. I love this!

Wholemeal Toast Sandwich (RM 9.30). Cheesy hashbrown with sunny side up. Crispy hashbrown and creamy egg yolk, need I say more? Yummy!

Cheesy Grilled Chicken Open Sandwich (RM 13.90). Black sesame toast with grilled chicken breast, salad and cheesy sauce. Somehow it reminded me a lot of the cheesy wedges from certain fast food chain.

Breakfast Potato Salad (RM 12.90). Poached egg on potato salad with ham, bell pepper, tomato and butter toast. One of my favourite and a must order at A Toast. I was happy to find that the mashed potatoes were chunky, which gave the salad some extra texture; while the bell peppers added a hint of peppery flavours to dish. Remember to toss all the ingredients together so you get to enjoy all the ingredients with every mouthful.

Big Breakfast (RM 16.90). Scrambled egg, ham, hashbrown, cheese sausage, salad and charcoal toast. Fans of big breakfast, you can get it at A Toast too.

Dragonfruit + Grape + Apple (RM 8.90). Enjoy the natural sweetness of the fruits.

Banana + Grape + Apple (RM 8.90). It was so refreshing, and we love this so much that morning at A Toast.

Iced Milk Coffee (RM 6.90). Not too bad for a breakfast and juice bar.

Iced Green Tea Latte (RM 8.90).

We had an extremely nice morning at A Toast. Sitting at the outdoor, bath in the sun while savouring our breakfast. The weather in Malaysia can be crazily hot most of the time and we will all be looking for air-cond or choose to stay indoors. That's why I really cherish the moments where the weather is nice that I get to stay outdoor. Well, I guess I'm just an outdoor girl who.... really loves the sun!

Good news people.. A Toast opens 7 days a week!! We were at A Toast during a weekday morning, but the crowd never stopped coming in. You'll be thinking where can you get a parking spot at Jalan Pudu right? Take a turn to the back alley of the row of shops and you'll find plenty of parking spots.

Enjoy your breakfast people!!!

Purple Miao 紫喵 @ Kampung Baru Ampang: A Simple Breakfast Place

I'm NOT a morning person, and would skip my breakfast most of the time (I know.. this is very bad >.<). However, I would still get up early in the morning once in a blue moon to have nice breakfast. And today, I'm going to share with you this lovely place in Ampang that I willingly sacrificed my sleep for - Purple Miao 紫喵.

I'm not sure how would you categorize Purple Miao. They are not a cafe; neither would I consider them a food stall. Occupying a small space in front of Typical Cafe, Purple Miao serves simple breakfast and hand drip & cold brew coffee.

Purple Miao has REALLY limited seats, so it is advisable for you to either go early and grab a seat, or bring your Tupperware for take-away.

The simple breakfast at Purple Miao - toasts, sandwiches and egg pancake.

No specialty coffee, but local coffee. Yes, Purple Miao only serves local coffee with 2 options - Cold Brew - Black/White (RM 8.50) or Hand Drip Coffee (RM 9.50). I've tried all 3 and can't pick a favourite. Regardless cold brew or hand drip, the coffee is smooth with bodied yet not overly acidic. For the White Cold Brew, it has a nice ratio of milk and coffee.

Let's start with something light before we started to chow down our entire breakfast - 青葱蛋饼 Spring Roll Egg Pancake (RM 5.50). Personally, I'm not a fan of spring onions. But if you are, you would definitely love this.

芝士肉松蛋饼 Meat Floss with Cheese Egg Pancake (RM 9.50). Freshly cooked egg pancake filled with melted cheese and savoury chicken floss~~ yummy!! It tasted so good, especially when it is still hot!

豆腐肉饼 Toufu with Meat Patty Sandwich (RM 8.50). Moist patty and fresh tomatoes sandwiched between perfectly toasted bread - crunchy but not greasy. The flavours are very subtle and just nice to have it as breakfast.

大太阳三明治 Big Sunny Side-up Sandwich (RM 6.50). THIS... THIS.... THIS... is one of my favourite sandwich! Look at that creamy egg yolk oozing out and coating the crunchy toast and fresh tomatoes!!! Oh~~ they added a surprise element too - passion fruit! Surprisingly, the passion fruit goes very well with all the elements, and I love how the slight sourness of the passion fruit cut through the richness of the sandwich.

芝士蛋吐司 Cheesy Egg Toast (RM 7.50). Sometimes, the simplest thing can be satisfying too. This hearty Cheesy Egg Toast is certainly one of them.

番茄三明治 Tomato Sandwich (RM 8.50). This is their "special menu". Meaning, it is off-menu, and you have to be lucky to drop by on the same day that they are serving it. We were super-duper lucky that day. They have yet to prepare the ingredients and wasn't sure if they would be able to serve it. Lucky for us, we managed to grab one that was freshly out from the kitchen!

We left Purple Miao feeling satisfied and happy! Looking at this table of food, I'm already craving for the sandwiches at Purple Miao~~~ looking forward to my next visit, which I hope will be SOON!!!

Worry that you can't find the place? Look out for the striking purple car, and you'll definitely find the place!

Oh ya~~ almost slipped my mind.. Purple Miao only accept cash and NO credit card.

7 Days Breakfast Challenge with Dutch Lady PureFarm Milk

Since young, we were taught the importance of having breakfast so that we'll have enough energy to kick-start the day. However, how many of us actually do have the habit of taking breakfast? Even if we do, how many of us will take the extra step of having healthy breakfast?

I admit that I'm not a breakfast person. However, thanks to Dutch Lady, I get to participate in a 7 Days Breakfast Challenge with Dutch Lady PureFarm Milk!

Thanks to Dutch Lady that I finally start practicing the habit of having healthy breakfast!

Do you know that Malaysians are not getting enough Calcium from our daily food intake? Milk is one of the best sources of Calcium for the body. Apart from Calcium, milk contains other essential nutrients such as Vitamin A, C, D, B6, B12, Iron, Magnesium and many more! There are many benefits of drinking milk; but just to name a few, it helps to develop strong teeth and bones, rehydration and improve vitamin intake.

Since young, I love drinking milk and I'll always have a cup of warm milk with soft-boiled eggs before going to school. As I grew older, I fell in love with coffee but my love for milk never stop and I replace coffee creamer with milk instead. It's healthier and taste better!

Started my 1st day of breakfast challenge with a healthy big breakfast from Dutch Lady.

2nd Day Breakfast - Toasts and soft-boiled eggs with Dutch Lady milk. I've always love to sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of buttered-toasts. ^_^

3rd Day Breakfast challenge - My usual plate of pan-seared chicken breast with salad to go with my Dutch Lady milk.

Another salad as my breakfast... with Dutch Lady milk, of course! I tossed in some spaghetti this time.

Salad bowl + sugar toasts + Dutch Lady milk... Something fast, easy and simple!

I was in a rush to go out, so grab some tarts and had a packet of milk on the go.

A packet of milk as breakfast after a busy morning serving at church.

Soft and fluffy carrot milk bun with Dutch Lady milk.. perfecto!

Once again, a HUGE thanks to Dutch Lady for giving me the chance to enjoy the goodness of Dutch Lady PureFarm Milk. The creamy goodness of the milk, it is no doubt that Dutch Lady is the No. 1 milk for breakfast!

Breakfast is the most important meal of a day, and milk provides energy and nutrients you need throughout the day. So, don't forget to have your breakfast and drink your milk!
