100Plus Interactive Vending Machine - Tried and Test!

09:34 becky-wong 0 Comments

If you have been following me on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram, you would have noticed that there are quite a few posts regarding 100PLUS. What are these all about? In my previous post, I've mentioned a 100PLUS interactive vending machine which has been located in various location throughout Malaysia. Finally, I went to Sungei Wang and tried out the machine myself. I must say, that was a whole lot of fun!

Tadaa~~ THIS is THE machine I was talking about.

The queue has started when I got there. I got in the line quickly, before it started to get too long. =p

Look! Even the kids can't wait to participate in the fun too!

Finally it's my turn! Have to log into Facebook first, and wait for the game to start.

Once the game started, you only have 5 lives - until game over. You have to tilt your body left and right, and jump in order to control the virtual can of 100PLUS through the obstacles in the game. I tried my very best to keep myself  "alive" as long as possible, unfortunately... I ran out of lives pretty fast. Hmmm....

Nevertheless, my reward was exciting - a can of 100PLUS from the vending machine!

Got myself a orange flavoured 100PLUS. Trust me, it really quench every single bit of your thirst, after having to walk from KL Convention Centre to Sungei Wang.

Oh look! There are more 100PLUS! Need some refreshing, thirst-quenching beverages, anyone?

DV Ristorante Pizzeria @ Bukit Damansara with StarHero

16:03 becky-wong 1 Comments

Thanks to StarHero (which was called VibeHero previously), I was invited to a food tasting session at DV Ristorante Pizzeria at Bukit Damansara. The place is kinda secluded, but this also meant that you are able to enjoy a quite and nice meal with family and friends. It is always good to have a short getaway from the busy streets, especially when you are trying to enjoy a good meal.

Focaccia and Grissini Bread
Bread was served along with olive oil and balsamic vinegar while waiting for the group to arrive. Focaccia was served warm and fluffy on the inside; the Grissini has a crunchy bite to it. Frankly, I'd prefer Focaccia anytime!

Let's look at the antipasto of the night:

Beef Tartare Burschetta
I love my meat raw! The beef tartare was not too bad. I'm not really a fan of bruschetta as the bread were always too hard to bite into. However, I like this bruschetta - the bread was grilled till crunchy on the outside but still easy to bite through.

Mushroom Bruschetta
The sauteed mushrooms on top was so oh-my-flavourful! Filled with the fragrance of the mushrooms.

Tomato Bruschetta
The tomato bruschetta was not nice - simple yet flavourful; but compare to the beef tartare and mushroom, I'd have to go with the mushroom bruschetta.

Eggplant Parmagiana
Any cheese super fan out there? You definitely will fall in love with this dish head over heel - layer of fried eggplant with home made tomato paste with mozzarella cheese. The eggplant were cooked till soft and coated nicely with the cheese! Yummy!!

Lamb Meatballs In Sugo al Pomodoro
This was one of my favourite dishes throughout the night. The meatballs were juicy and succulent.  Everyone one of them were just perfectly cooked.

Caprese (RM 22)
Caprese (RM 22) - Mozzarella cheese with tomato paste and basil leaves.

Tartufata

The Tartufata was yet available on the menu, but I really do wish they will add this into their menu real soon! It's really to die for! Pizza serve with mushroom and potatoes (yes! potatoes NOT pinepple...thanks God!) drizzled with some truffle oil. It was so yummy. I actually visited the restaurant few days back, and was hoping that I could order this off their menu. Sadly, it's not on the menu yet. ='(

Prosciutto e Funghi (RM 24)
The second time I went back there, we ordered the Prosciutto e Funghi (RM 24) - it's ham and mushroom with mozzarella cheese and tomato paste.

We had a forth pizza, which was the Quattor Formaggi (RM 28). It meant 4 type of cheeses - Mozzarella, gorgonzola, parmiggiano reggiano and assiago. Unfortunately, I only realized afterward that I DID NOT TAKE PHOTOS OF THIS PIZZA! It's really a disaster!!!!!

Overall, I'd recommend all of the pizzas - the thin crust was perfect and the side was crunchy. Unlike those local pizzas from the fast food chains - thick dough and the crust are always either burnt or too hard to chew on.

Fettucine Aglio Olio e Peperoncino
I've always have a thing for aglio olio, but most of the aglio olio was either too bland or the pasta would be sticking to each other. This, my friends, was perfect! It has the right amount of heat to it, and though it looked simple, the aglio olio was really a satisfying plate a pasta.

Linguine al Pesto (RM 18)
Another simple yet delicious dish - pasta served with homemade pesto sauce, pine nuts and potatoes. You could request to add parmesan cheese if you'd like to.

Spaghetti allo Scoglio (RM 28)
Spaghetti served with fish, mussels and prawns in homemade tomato sauce. I never really fancy any tomato base pasta, as most of the time they use the canned tomato paste and it doesn't taste appetizing. However, I love this dish. From this dish, you could totally taste the difference between this spaghetti and your usual ones from other restaurants. By not using the conventional canned tomato paste, the dish actually tasted way more delicious!

All of the pasta were al dente! Yummeh~~~

Braised Beef Cheek (RM 52)
The beef cheek was braised for 4 hours along with potatoes, carrots and served with greens. A superstar on that night, I must say. Everyone seems to love this dish. The meat was braised till so tender, that you could practically tear it just by using your spoon. Yes! Not fork or knife, but a spoon! The meat was really that tender that it has a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The gravy was flavourful too!

Chicken Scaloppine with Porcini Mushrooms (RM 28)
They uses organic chicken. We were informed by the owner, Frankie, that they are very choosy over the ingredients that they use in the dishes. The chicken was juicy, and the mushroom sauce was just delicious.

Peppercorn crusted Fillet of Tuna
Wasn't really a big fan of tuna, unless they are raw! The tuna were coated with peppercorn and lightly seared on the outside, and drizzled with some olive oil and capers. The fish was delicious - the peppercorn gave a slight heat to the fish, and the capers added a slight saltiness to it. Totally appetizing.

And last but not least, dessert time!

Tiramisu and Affogato
The tiramisu was good. However, their version of tiramisu does not have whisky added to it - considering there would be children dinning in the restaurant. It was moist, but I'd prefer my tiramisu to have whisky added to it.

The affogato - vanilla ice cream drowned in espresso coffee - was another of my favourite! Mainly because I love affogato. Hey, ice cream and coffee - who doesn't like this?! The warm bitter espresso totally paired perfectly with the cold and sweet vanilla ice cream.

Overall, the food here were really great! Judging that I went back there twice in 2 weeks time, I'd really highly recommend this restaurant.

Group picture time with the lovely people from StarHero, and of course the bloggers of the night!

The operating hours of the restaurant: Monday to Sunday, 12pm to 2am.

Address: 77 Jalan Setiabakti, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur
Telephone: +603-2098-2001

[Sponsored Post] Nestle Natural Set Yogurt - Blogger Recipe Challenge

23:27 becky-wong 0 Comments

I was one of the lucky 50 bloggers chosen by Nuffnang to do a sponsored post for Nestle Natural Set Yogurt Recipe Challenge. After being torn between recipes, I decided to use a simple recipe that I've used a few times, but give it a 'lil twist this time - using of course the Nestle Natural Set Yogurt:

The other ingredients are:

300gm or 8 slices of chicken fillet
100gm mushrooms of your choice (you can add more mushrooms to your preference)
3 tablespoons Nestle Natural Set Yogurt
2 teaspoons Oregano
2 teaspoons chili flakes
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoons pepper
a pinch of salt

On the side note, I was planning to use couscous but decided to scrap that off and go along with white rice.

Firstly, add in Nestle Natural Set Yogurt along with Oregano, chili flakes, salt and pepper into a mixing bowl or plate. Add in the chicken fillets, and mix them well. You can choose to use other meat or even other parts of the chicken. The reason I choose the fillets because they are more easier to be cooked evenly.

After marinated the meat, wrap it up nicely with a cling wrap and store it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to be marinated.

After your meat is nicely marinated, take it out from the refrigerator and now you are ready to cook them.

Heat up the pan on medium heat with 2 teaspoons of oil, preferably olive oil or peanut oil. Add the fillets into the pan, and pan fried 3-5 minutes on each side, depends on the thickness of your meat. Apart from using oil, you could use a more healthier alternative - low sodium broth. Replace the 2 teaspoons of oil with roughly 2 teaspoons of low sodium broth of your choice. However, by not using oil, you might not get the browning on the meat.

Take the fillets, put them in a plate and leave it a side. Don't forget to pour the remaining gravy into the plate too! Thou shalt not waste.

Heat up a clean pan on medium heat, and add in the butter. Melt the butter in the pan and put in the mushrooms. Stir the mushrooms till it started to soften, and seasoned with a pinch of salt. Continue to sautee for a bit, before adding them into the plate along with the fillets.

The end product:

There is a slight cheesy taste to the chicken due to the yogurt. Being a cheese lover myself, I'd say this is definitely a more healthier options to create something cheesy by using Nestle Natural Set Yogurt.

My 2nd Journey with the Miracles of Mireica

10:17 becky-wong 0 Comments

Thanks to Betsy from LiveLife, I was given the opportunity to continue my Mireica journey with my 2nd box of Mireica. Since I've talked about the product in my previous post, hence, this post would be a short one - withe some comparisons of my skin between consuming the 1st and 2nd box of Mireica.

Right Cheek:
1st box of Mireica
2nd box of Mireica
The photos of top was my progress while consuming my 1st box of Mireica. There were some slight improvement, though not that obvious. The photos at the bottom are the results AFTER I've consumed my 2nd box of Mireica. I can see that my skin are clearer and brighter, and my scars have lighten.

Left Cheek:

1st box of Mireica
2nd box of Mireica
From the comparison above, I can see that my left cheek - which has more worse condition than my right - has also improve quite a lot. Though the scars and redness are still there, but they have definitely lighten by a lot.

My personal thoughts after consuming Mireica:

1) It does lighten my acne scars and the redness
2) It makes my skin clearer and brighter - not as dull as before
3) Though the open pores are still there, but these really do takes time. After all, open pores are not like windows and doors that you could open and close as you wish.=p

After seeing the results on my skin, I'd recommend Mireica to anyone who would like to tryout collagen drinks.
