After the success of its first outlet in Klang, Pim's Thai Food expanded their business and opened up a 2nd outlet at Aman Suria - Pims & The Rama. Opened for only a few months, Pim's & The Rama offers authentic Thai food.
It is quite easy to spot the restaurant with the big restaurant name.
The interior is spacious and very comfy with a modern setting.
Rama's Beloved Fried Donut Prawns (RM 18.90). Mince meat with prawns fried till crispy and served with their chef's special sauce. I thought the donut has similar texture to a fish ball, and it is a nice starter to snack on.
BBQ Pork Sticks - 3pcs (RM 12). BBQ pork is one many popular street food at Thailand. The pork is juicy and tender and generously with sweet-savoury sauce. BBQ pork is probably one of the many dishes I would order whenever I dine in at a Thai restaurant.
Original Thai Papaya Salad (RM 18). The salad is crunchy, sweet, savoury and spicy - everything you are looking for in a Thai salad!
Thai Otah Otah Seafood (RM 25.50). Rich and creamy Thai-style otak-otak. Unlike our local version, this is less spicy but a tad more creamier and rich in taste. I like this a lot.
Pim's Pandan Chicken (RM 17.90 - 4 pcs | RM 23.90 - 6 pcs). A place of delicious fragrance pandan chicken with tender and juicy centre is a must-have, especially the ones at Pim's & The Rama.
Thai Grilled Pork Neck (RM 19). This is probably one of the well-loved dishes throughout the night. The meat is well-marinated, tender and juicy.
Fresh Siakiap Seamed with Chili & Lime Soup (RM 66). I love steamed fish especially Thai-style steamed fish. The sour and spicy broth is so appetizing! Pour in a bottle of Thai beer to elevate the entire dish and bring out the sweetness of the fish.
Fresh Boneless Deepfried Siakiap Fish with Thai Sweet & Sour Sauce (RM 68). If steamed fish is not for you, go for the crispy boneless fried fish then. Crispy skin and flaky meat drizzled with sweet & sour sauce.
Yen Ta Fo (RM 39). Thai's version of Chinese's Yong Tau Foo, this special Thai hotpot is made mainly using soy. As many Thai dishes, the soup is sour and spicy but it has a hint of sweetness in it. If you have never tried Thai-style Yong Tau Foo, do come to Pim's and give this dish a try.
Pim's Super Seafood Tom Yum Pot (RM 88). The seafood tom yum pot is definitely for those who love having seafood tom yum. The pot comes with live tiger prawns, New Zealand Mussels, Crayfish, baby snowcrab, Thai roasted pork, octopus, squid, onsen eggs, abalone, Lala, mushrooms, scallops, fishballs, and Thai QQ noodles. The tom yom soup is refillable, and the pot comes in 3 sizes depending on the size of the group.
Chef's Green Curry Chicken (RM 28). Rich and creamy Thai green curry served with tender beef slices.
Chef's Green Curry Seafood (RM 29). Not a fan of beef? Seafood it is then!
Pad Thai Noodles Prawn (RM 16.50). If you are looking for something simple, a plate of classic Pad Thai might just be what you are looking for.
Spicy Hot-Basil Leaf Minced Pork Rice with Fried Egg (RM 14.90). Another simple yet classic Thai street food - minced pork with a little bit of spiciness but packed with aromatic basil leaves.
Thai Pork Leg on Rice (RM 15.90). Braised for long hours, the pork leg is almost melt in your mouth tender.
Thai Purple Drink with Lime (RM 5.50). Cool and refreshing drink to have especially after all the hot and spicy Thai food.
Pim's & The Rama has quite an extensive menu list and I felt the pricing is pretty reasonable for a Thai restaurant. If you are looking to explore new Thai restaurant in PJ area, Pim's & The Rama would be a good place to go.

When it comes to Thai food, I believe it is a favourite cuisine to many people. The combination of sweet, sour, savoury and spicy is so well-balanced that the dishes are just too good to resist. The flavours are bold and bright at the same time, and this is the reason why I love Thai food so much. And today, I would like to introduce a Thai restaurant that I've came to know of recently at Seri Kembangan - Rod Dee Thai Cuisine.
Tuck away in a quieter corner of Taman Equine, Rod Dee Thai Cuisine occupies the upper space of a steamboat restaurant.
The interior is very simple, and during the night, you can opt for the outdoor area which will be light up with beautiful lighting.
Mommies, don't worry if you are bringing your little ones. They can play and have fun at the children's room at the restaurant.
Grilled Pork Neck Salad (RM 30). The pork slices are tender, and I amount of spiciness that is packed in this bowl of salad. It's very appetizing for sure, but be careful of the chilies in it. I unconsciously bit into the chilies and I couldn't feel my tongue for the next few seconds. Nevertheless, it is a salad that I'll order again.
BBQ Chicken Sausage Stuffed Sticky Rice (RM 18).
BBQ Garlic Pork Sausage (RM 16).
Whenever I visit Thailand, sausages seem to be a must-have street food for me. Frankly, I'm not a sausage person, but I'll still make sure I get myself some sausages when I'm at Thailand. The firm, smokiness and toothsome sausages at Rod Dee Thai definitely transported me back to Thailand.
Pandan Chicken (RM 20). Most of the food in Thai cuisine are on the spicy side, but the fragrant and mildly sweet Pandan Chicken is perfect for those who have low tolerance for spicy food.
Taro Soup Fish Head (RM 60). Yam and fish head??! You must be wondering if these 2 ingredients even go well together. I had the same doubt as you but it turned out they paired perfectly well with each other. The sweetness of the yam and fish head with the flavourful clear broth, it's so good and comforting! Oh, if you can't take spicy tom yum, this Taro Soup Fish Head is exactly what you need.
Coconut Tom Yum - Seafood (RM 31). The tom yum is rich and creamy but not too spicy, and I thought the slices of coconut meat are nice touch to the dish.
Coconut Soup Crispy Fried Fish - Grouper (RM 68).
I truly believe coconuts are like bacons, they taste good no matter what and they make everything taste better! LOL~~
In all honesty, the coconut soup is SO GOOD!!! It's creamy, thick and rich; and the fried fish tasted absolutely amazing after soaking up all the goodness from the soup. I could drink a bowl of the soup on its own.
Lemon Steam Clam (RM 26).
I LOVE CLAMS and these are my favourite at the restaurant. The tangy lemon broth enhanced the sweetness of the clams. It's refreshing and delicious.
From Left to Right:
Thai Milk Tea - Cold (RM 5)
Thai Milk Green Tea - Cold (RM 5)
Thai Coffee - Cold (RM 5)
Both the Thai Milk Tea and Thai Milk Green Tea are on the sweeter side, but I find they are a tad too sweet. On the other hand, I didn't try the Thai Coffee so I can't really say much about it.
From Left to Right:
Ice Lemon Soda (RM 6.50)
Ice Pineapple Soda (RM 6.50)
Ice Roselle Soda (RM 6.50)
Compared to all 3 sodas, I'd prefer the Ice Pineapple Soda which tasted very much like Mat Kool Traffic Light Popsicle. The Ice Lemon Soda somehow reminded me of Eno drinks and not really my preference.
Red Ruby with Ice Cream (RM 8). Red Ruby seems to be one of the must have desserts when someone dine in a Thai restaurant. Not overly sweet, the ice cream is smooth and creamy and I like the chewy textures of the "red rubies".
Thai Coconut Ice Cream (RM 10). Probably one of the most creamy coconut ice cream I've ever had and I love it. The biscuits and crushed nuts added some nice textures and nutty flavours to the dessert.
Sticky Rice with Mango Ice Cream (RM 8). Compared to the other 2 desserts, I'm not a fan of this Sticky Rice with Mango Ice Cream. The sticky rice is a tad too mushy and the ice cream is too "perfumey". I still prefer the traditional mango with sticky dessert.
Overall, the dishes at Rod Dee Thai Cuisine are really good. Some of my personal favourites have to be the Lemon Steam Clams, both fish dishes and the tom yum. Some of you might be thinking Seri Kembangan is quite a distance, but it only took me around 30 minutes to reach there from SS2, PJ. I've traveled much more further to get good food, so 30 minutes is actually like driving to KL city centre.

For the past few months, APW Bangsar has gone through some cool transformation, with a few new dining venues. One of its latest tenants is Kaiju Company, a Thai-Japanese fusion restaurant offering interesting dishes such as tom yum, rice bowl, udon and tuna tataki and many more.
Walking pass PULP and make a right turn, Kaiju is located just few doors down from the famous and ever-crowded Breakfast Thieves. During the day, the place is nice and bright with natural sunlight; while the 30-meter origami dragon lights up like a lantern after dark.
Ekamai Salmon Salad (RM 22). Fresh salmon, mixed green leaf and avocado tossed in Thai chili sauce and Goma Tarik - light and refreshing, yet have enough crunchy texture to kick-start a meal.
Aroi Tori Karaage (RM 18). The flavours were ok, but the texture was a tad tough (which could be due to the duration of us taking the food photos). However, I like the yuzu salad at the side, which is perfect in balancing out the heaviness of the fried chicken.
Okinawa Bittergourd (RM 18). Okinawa-style omelette served with bittergourd and cube duck. The omelette was nice and fluffy, and I was surprise how subtle the bittergourd flavours are. The dish could be enjoyed even for those who don't like bittergourd.
Spicy BKK Street Pasta (RM 28). This was one of my favourite dishes at Kaiju. Along with lime-based sauce, the pasta was served with prawns, lamb and cheese. The tangy and spiciness of the pasta reminded me of Thailand street food.
Hawaiian Kaiju Rice (RM 26). The curry has nothing much to shout about but the chicken patty was definitely a big hit on the table.
If you love creamy tom yum, or just about anything that is creamy... go for the Tom Yum Udon (RM 26) with fish paste, prawn, squid and mushroom. Though I like the spiciness of the tom yum, the creaminess of it might too jelak after a few bite.
Seemingly harmless, but the Salmon Manow Nabe (RM 26) is one serious contender in its spiciness. The heat might be over the roof for some, but the sour-spiciness soup would definitely keep you going back for more and it goes SOOOOOOO well with bowl of rice!
Sake+Asamboi (RM 20). One of the popular drinks at Kaiju. Never would I have thought the combination of sake and asamboi would be so good. I was expecting the drink to have some "kick" from both sake and the heat, but turned out the chili is just for garnish and the sake was very mild. A highly recommended drink if you prefer something less intense.
Compared to the Sake+Asamboi, the Hot Yuzu (RM 10) was kind of a let down. Instead of the citrusy flavours of yuzu, it tasted sweet. I'm not sure if they have added too much sugar by accident.
Thai Ice Tea (RM 10). I only wish it has more pronounced flavour of tea.
Lemongrass - Cold (RM 10). For something as aromatic and strong as lemongrass, I was pretty surprised that we could hardly taste it in the drink. Again, if you are into less intense drink, you might like this.
Overall, there were hits and misses during our meal at Kaiju Company. However, it is still worth a try and I'd definitely be back for some of the dishes - especially the nabe!
On a side note, there are pretty limited seats at Kaiju. We were there just before lunch and the place was already filling up fast. So, do go there earlier if you don't want to walk away disappointed. Also, they do not have a baby chair at the restaurant. So, don't forget to bring along your baby stroller.
They accept CASH ONLY, and NO credit card.
