Another "Steak" out at Jake's Charbroil Steak

I have been craving for a good steak for months, so when my brother suggested that we bring our cousin sister to Jake's, I happily agreed! It was raining heavily (or scarily, due to the thunder and lightning...), but it did not stop me from braving myself to the restaurant. A girl will do almost anything for her steak! LOL!!! =p

I've posted obout this place previously but did not get much of the pictures back then. So, this post will mostly consist of pictures.

pick your cut peeps ^^

waiting patiently *ehem* for my escargot

For starter, we were torn between escargot and oxtail soup. At last, we ended up with their Baked Escargot with Herbs and Garlic .

I've tried very hard to take some nice pictures of the snail, but I must say, it really is super difficult to take them! I strongly believe this is due to my poor photography skill. =p

We've also ordered their Beef Nachos for our second starter. The nachos was quite good, but I think the cillies by the side will be too spicy for some. Also, the cillies kinda reminded me of the sambal in nasi lemak. But, the cheese on top of the nachos was really gooey-ly good!

After the starter, I couldn't wait for them to serve my main course - Steak, of course!! As usual, I love my steak to be done medium rare. I've been disappointed way too many times when ordering steak elsewhere. Once I hurt the root of my teeth due to excessive chewing on the cupboard-tough steak, and that really freaked me out till I did not have any steak for quite a long time. There was a time when I cut into the meat, the blood just kept flowing out, and my steak was kinda soaked in a bloody gravy. The steak was either still rare or the chef just did not let it rest enough.

Finally, they served the steak. I was practiclly drooling on the meat when the waiter brought them over to our table. After sprinkled some freshly grind black pepper, I eargerly cut into my 200gm Aged Tenderloin done medium rare. There, in the middle, is the lovely pinkish color meat. Ahhhh~~~~~ that's one of a few heavenly sight for me. My steak was perfectly done will medium rare and was tender. The baked potato by the side was nice too, with sour cream and grounded beef bacon.

Perfect medium rare ^^

My brother order the same cut as me, but his was cooked till medium. My cousin sister order a 650gm T-Bone well done. It was huge when they served the T-bone.

To complete our meal, we ordered Nut Brittle as our dessert. I'm not a big fan of caremel so the dessert was ok for me, but both my brother and cousin sister love it.

There it was, my lovely and satisfying Thursday rainy night! ^^

P/S: "MR" = Medium Rare ........... or...... "Mr." (hm...wonder was it a male cow on my plate =p )

Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+

12:04 becky-wong 5 Comments

I have been suffering from acne and the scars they left behind for years! I've tried all sorts of method (except surgery and laser) just to get rid of them - regular facials, fruit acid treatment, drinking collagen/beauty drinks and tons of money dumped into skin care products!! After all these trials and errors, I'll agree that my acne scars do heal a lot compare to last time. However, the healing process kinda stop or slow down, I feel. Why I said so? That's because whenever I have acne popping on my face, it will leave a red scarring mark on my face (reminding me that it was there before T____T), and it will take more then a month to heal. Sometimes it just faded by a bit and just stayed there for eternity!

Few weeks ago I was doing my usual research on acne scars on the internet, and I came across Trilogy products. I've seen this brand and their products before in pharmacies and organic skin care outlets, but I did not check them out further. Now, after reading all the comments and reviews on the internet about Trilogy, I'm kicking myself real hard! All the reviews online got me curious on their rosehip oil products - Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+.

I've heard of the healing abilities of rosehip oil quite some time ago, but wasn't excited to try them because my face condition. Let me explain a bit on this. I have combination oily skin + acne problem + sensitive skin (my face turns red or acnes will start coming out the second I use the wrong products). Hence, like a lot other girls (I believe), I was kinda skeptic on putting oil on my face. Personally, I felt it was gonna be oil on top on oil *ewwwww*!!! However, I'm a converted now!

What Trilogy says:

"Certified organic and 100% natural, Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ combines nature’s most powerful skin restoring and skin protecting properties in a unique and advanced formulation, RosapeneTM.
Rosapene is a red berry seed oil blend, which provides daily antioxidant protection and intensive nourishment to replenish softness and elasticity for healthier, younger looking skin.

Potent super antioxidants lycopene from Tomato and phytosterol from Acai help protect skin from premature ageing caused by environmental free radical damage. Nourishing essential fatty acids (Omegas 3 and 6) from Cranberry and Rosehip moisturise and renew. Mineral and vitamin rich Oat extract provides a soothing and luxurious feel that glides on the skin.

Ideal for all skin types, massage 2-3 drops into cleansed skin on face, neck and décolletage."

My Verdict:

I started using the rosehip oil along with my moiturizer, but I found out it was a tad too rich for my skin. So, I use my moiturizer in the morning and only use the rosehip oil during the night (without my mouturizer). I totally love this product for a few reasons:

1) I have super hard-to-heal acne scars, but after using the rosehip oil, the scars heal very fast. I have old acne scars that have been with me for more than 5 years, and also new scars that have been there for few weeks to few months. I understand that it takes longer time for older scars to heal, so I was observing the newer scars I have. I must say, I've never seen my scars heal so fast in my life. From the first night I apply the rosehip oil to my scars healed, it took only about one week. I know some ladies out there might say "One week for scars to heal is too long", but I'm totally fine with this process. After using the rosehip oil for close to 2 weeks, I can proudly say that my scars has definitely lighten a lot! In fact, some of them is totally gone by now!

2) As mentioned ealier on, I have combination oily skin. Although I'm putting oil on my face, it doesn't make my face oiler. but instead, it helps to control the oil on my face. All the while I have to apply moiturizer to balance out the oil on my face (weird huh?). If I don't do so, my face will be super oily and have the uncomfortable-sticky feeling. ** I'm using Clinique Dramatic Different Moutirizing Gel

3) It made my face smoother. I was cleansing my face as usual one morning, and suddenly I realised that my face is much more smoother than usual. I'm totally loving the smoothness of my face whenever I'm cleansing it! Hahahahaha =P

I'll continue to observe my skin condition in weeks to come, to see will there be any breakouts. However, I'll say this is a product that worth invest to be part of you skincare routine.

**I tried to upload the pictures of the product but due to some error, I was unable to do so.
