Bookmark Coffee @ Taman Connaught: Customize the Drawing on Your Coffee

Latte art is so....... yester-year. Other than the shape of a heart, you'll probably get Tulip or swan on your latte. Unless the cafes you visit have super talented barista in making latte art; else, you'll be getting these common art.

What if I tell you, you can get more than these arts on your coffee? From Disney characters to daily objects or cartoons, you can have whatever art you want! Isn't this great? At Bookmark Coffee, you can draw anything you want on your coffee.

Bookmark Coffee has been operating in Taman Connaught for about 2 years, and I've heard about them for a long time. It is only until recently that I get to visit the cafe. Walked into the cafe, I notice there were books everywhere. After talking to the owner, only then I found out that he was previously a journalist and loves to read and the books in the cafe are his personal collections.

The cafe was very cozy and quiet. I could actually chill at the cafe for an entire day and do some reading.

Mozzarella Mamee Cheese Balls (RM 10). Cheezy Mozzarella cheese coated with crispy Mamee. This is THE BOMB! To truly enjoy the cheesy goodness, do eat it as soon as they serve it.

Mozzarella Cheese and Fries (RM 10). If cheese balls are not enough, boost up your carb intake with these cheese and fries!

Smoked Duck Breast Salad (RM 12). Smoky duck breast and crunchy salad has always been a perfect match. I highly recommend this dish, if you want something light to munch on or not too hungry.

Cheesy Crispy Fried Chicken (RM 18). OK, I admit I really LOVE cheese a lot!!! Tender, juicy fried chicken generously drizzled with savoury cheese sauce - this was too irresistible!

Homemade Pesto Pasta with Grilled Salmon (RM 18). Pesto can be "too single note" for some people, but the homemade pesto at Bookmark Coffee was a different story. Have it with a nicely grilled salmon, this is one simple yet satisfying dish.

Next, the highlights of Bookmark Coffee! Remember I mentioned earlier the drawings on the coffee? Here goes!

The owner himself is a self-taught artist, and he want to do something different from the usual latte art. After much practice, he presents to you "Art on Your Coffee".

The soundtrack of Beauty & The Beast was on a replay mode when this was served. The Hazelnut Latte Salty Milk Float (RM 12) had very subtle salty-sweet flavours, not too bad.

Oreo Salty Milk Float (RM 12). Blended with actual Oreo, this could be your favourite if you love Oreo a lot.

Pandan Milk Salty Milk Float (RM 12). It was slightly sweet for my liking, and I felt the pandan flaovurs could have been more pronounced.

Not only can you have drawings on cold beverages, but the hot ones too. We had a beautiful Eiffel Tower on our French Rose Latte (RM 11).

Bookmark Coffee is indeed a very cosy cafe where you can get nice food and have cute drawing on your coffee while you enjoy a book or two. It takes about 20 minutes to complete an artwork, so if you are in a hurry, do let them know and they can do a simple one for you.

3B Drip & Dutch Coffee @ Sungai Buloh: Not-to-be-missed New Dishes!

15:56 becky-wong 0 Comments

A few months ago, I asked "How far would you go for a cup of coffee?", and my friends and I found ourselves at Sungai Buloh sipping on hand-drip coffee at 3B Drip & Dutch Coffee.

3B Drip & Dutch Coffee serves both hand-drip and dutch coffee along with a varieties of Korean delicacies.

During our first visit, they were still fine tuning a few things in their cafe, including their menu. Nevertheless, we enjoyed their food and had a great time at the cafe. 3B Drip & Dutch has recently launched a few new dishes, and we were honored to be invited to try them out at the cafe!

The Combination (RM 128). A platter of kimchi, smoked duck, mushrooms, pork belly rolls served alongside with onions, egg rolls and vegetables.

If you are going in a group, this platter would be perfect! After all, food always tastes nicer when shared with loved ones. Don't you think so?

Kimbap (RM 18.90). Colourful seaweed rice roll made with varieties of ingredients.

Jumeokbap (RM 17.90). Aren't these rice balls just too cute?!

Cube Steak (RM 33.90). Cheese lovers, don't forget to try the cube steak with Mozzarella cheese. The flavours of the steak weren't too bad but the texture was a tad tough. I supposed we took a bit too long in taking the photos.

It's so cheesy, I can't!!!!

Kare (RM 23.90). Tried Japanese curry countless times, but it was my first time had Korean curry. Not a fan of this dish as I still prefer Indian-style curry. Need those spices!!

Zhe Ge (RM 18.90). Think of it as 3B's bibimbap.

The Flower Pork (RM 148) was one of the highlight for me. Beautifully plated pork belly that were so well-marinated and tender. Due to it is made to order, the kitchen needs about 20 minutes to prepare the dish.

Korean traditional salad was served at the side to balance out the richness of the pork belly. A very refreshing touch to the dish.

Ham-Bak (RM 28). Juicy patty topped with smooth mashed tomatoes, generously drizzled with gravy. The 3B Korean hamburger is another must try at the cafe.

Just when we thought that's all at 3B, we were wowed by the desserts. Apart from decadent French pastries by Xiao by Crustz, 3B offers traditional Korean mochi too.

Mochi Platter (RM 28). I love the soft, chewy skin but not a fan of the sweetness. But then, I've never been a fan of desserts or anything that are too sweet.

Compared to the mochi platter, this Mochi Waffle (RM 18) is definitely my kind of desserts. Chewy waffles with matcha soft serve paired perfectly together!

Cappucino Dry.

Flat White.

No doubt that the coffee here are really good.

Ice Cute Latte 2.0 - Dutch Coffee (RM 15.50). The famous "Teddy Bear" coffee at 3B. All the elements were served separately and you are free to mix them together according to your liking.

Remember to work fast on that camera of yours before the bear melts away.

3B Citroen Pop Soda (RM 13.90). Cold and fizzy, an ideal refreshing drink to have.

Located at Pusat Komercial LGSB, 3B Drip & Dutch Coffee is a gem at Sungai Buloh serving not only good coffee but also delicious Korean food too. Better still, getting a parking at the area will definitely not be a problem.

Tree 15 @ Bandar Sri Damansara: Another Hidden Gem Found

19:44 becky-wong 0 Comments

Delicacies are everywhere, the only question is "Do you know where to find them?"

Way before I started my blog, I've always like to explore places - especially when it comes to food. I don't really mind driving a distance to have nice food, especially when the place has nice ambiance too. Couple of weeks ago, my friends and I dropped by a cafe at Bandar Sri Damansara named Tree 15.

I have to admit Kepong is one area that I rarely explore, purely because of the traffic and.... the toll. Decided to pay Tree 15 a visit because my friends had actually went there and they said it is a nice cafe.

Stepping into Tree 15, I like the cozy vibe of the cafe. Oh, they are child friendly too! They even provide crayons for kids to play with.

Personally, I'd prefer the outdoor seats. If the weather is right, this will be a nice corner for OOTD too.

Going up to 1st floor, is another quite corner at Tree 15. They even provide an outdoor mezzanine area for people who prefer the outdoor and some privacy.

Cold Noodle Salad (RM 12). We all know Malaysia weather can be crazy hot most of the times, and this is where having some cold noodles seems to be a genius idea. Topped with Teriyaki chicken and homemade special Thai sauce served at the side, this sweet and tangy salad absolutely kick-started our appetite.

Tree 15 Special Fried Rice (RM 16). If you are looking for a dish that's worth the value, this is certainly the one - a big piece of fried chicken drumstick served with fried rice and homemade chili sauce. The chicken was fried till crispy and well-marinated, while the spiciness of the chili sauce pairs so perfectly-well with the fried rice.

Next, move on to desserts!

Peanut Butter Blueberry Cheese (RM 13). Blueberry cheese is very common, but little did I know the flavours could be so good incorporated with peanut butter. I especially like the nuttiness in the cheesecake. Yumz!

The Green Tea Torte (RM 15) has a nice balance of sweet and bitterness from the green tea and chocolate. If I'm looking for something light and less sweet, this will definitely be my choice.

Flat White (RM 10). The coffee here wasn't too bad as well.

Dark Chocolate (RM 12). Icy and chocolaty, perfect for non-coffee drinkers or chocolate lovers.

CJ-7 (RM 10). Sour plum with 7-up, this frizzy drink is the one to have when it comes to beating the heat.

I can never forget the reason behind the name "Tree 15". We had the chance to talk to the lady boss, and she told us she discovered this shop while doing interior design for the shop's owner. When she stepped into the shop, she was very inspired and believes she can do something special with the space. There's a tree right in the middle of the shop and the shop lot is numbered 15. Hence, the name "Tree 15".

If you love hanging out at quite and cozy cafes, check out Tree 15. They even encourage their customers to explore the space in the cafe and find the spot they love! Then again, if you asked me...my vote definitely goes to the outdoor seats and mezzanine floor!
