Havaianas Summer Kit: Vintage-licious!

21:27 becky-wong 0 Comments

I always have a thing for vintage design - from paintings to fashion to accessories! So, you could imagine how excited I am now.... since I've found out that Havaianas has step back to the '60's, through their very limited edition Collectibles Summer Kit! And.....their are featuring pin-up illustrations by world-renowned illustrator Gil Elvgren! A little introduction on our artist -

" a classical American illustrator. He was a master of portraying the all-American ideal feminine. The women Elvgren painted were never the femme fatale, the female adventuress, or somebody's mistress. They are the girl next door whose charms are innocently revealed in that fleeting instant when she is caught unaware in what might be an embarrassing situation."

Pssttt....try to google his work, and they are pretty amazing.

Ok! I got side-tracked a little, but let's get back to Havaianas and their summer kit!

Look! Ain't they gorgeous?! Totally brought us back to our parents era, where you could admire these posters while Elvis Presley playing at the background....

The Butterfly Project and Havaianas is kicking off a Cinderella hunt by giving out these limited edition premium artist flip flop along with vintage pin-up illustration and a matching towel, and all you have to do is to do the following:

1) Blog about Havaianas Summer Kit
2) Why you want the it!
3) Mention you shoe size

Easy huh! Oh ya...it almost slipped my mind, they are ONLY 20 pairs of these beauties in Malaysia AND they are NOT FOR SALE!!!! So, what are you waiting for? I know for sure that I want to own one of these babies!

I absolutely love love love love Havaianas and it will be a dream come true for me to own one of their limited edition premium artist flip flop along with a vintage pin-up illustration and a matching towel! I might just wear these babies, admiring the pin-up illustration and play some Elvis Presley at the background...and imagine that I've traveled to the past into the good-old '60's!

So, keeping my fingers very very cross... I'm hoping that I'll receive a size 5 flip flop at my doorstep!!!!!!!

Alqvimia: Body Oil
This is my first time hearing the brand Alqvimia. It is a luxury brand from Spain, and I came across a few positive reviews on their body oil. They have quite a varieties in their product range, and I have these 3 in my beauty bag:

A huge huge huge huge hugs and kisses to Tammy and The Butterfly Project for organizing such amazing hangouts and the wonderful beauty bag! I truly can't wait for the next event!

[The Butterfly Project] Kenko Reflexology & Fish Spa

10:05 becky-wong 0 Comments

I was invited by Tammy from The Butterfly Project to enjoy a relaxing fish spa with a bunch of amazing ladies at Kenko Reflexology & Fish Spa in Pavillion.

I could hear giggles coming from the inside when I was taking some photos of the shop. I thought to myself "It really seems like a lot of fun going on in there!", and I couldn't wait to try it out for myself. On a side note, this was my first time trying out fish spa, and I didn't know what to expect.

There's a small little corner at the side as a waiting area,

Before we started the spa, we'd need to do some washing to our feet!

Shoes to be kept aside while we wash and disinfect our feet.

There are friendly instructions on the correct way to clean and disinfect your feet, before stating your spa.

Finally, the long awaited moment...

The fishes gathered around very fast after I soaked my feet into the water. It was a very unique experience. When the fishes started to "work" on your feet it felt like little vibrators around and under your feet, and was kinda ticklish initially. After a while, it actually felt very relaxing to me - sitting there enjoying the fish spa, looking out to the KL/Pavillion view and having a good time with the ladies.

Happy time!! ^^

On a side note, the weather has been crazy recently and I sincerely hope that all of you have been constantly hydrating yourself and taking care of your diet. Talks about diet, do you know that you could actually choose your diet wisely by determining whether you are "Hot" or "Cold" body type? My Favourite Gadget from iPmart - Sony NEX

17:32 becky-wong 0 Comments

Joe has been "brainwashing" me into changing my current camera to a Sony NEX series. I must admit, after trying out the camera myself and seeing the photos taken from the NEX series, I'm really very tempted to get myself one - Sony NEX 5. Why Nex 5 but not the latest series, you ask? Sadly I have to "bow down" to reality - not enough budget!

Since I really am not a gadget person, I don't think I'm in the position to comment much on the camera. However, for those that doesn't want to invest too much in a professional camera (frankly, the pro-DSLR are really big and heavy too!) but yet looking for a camera with better quality than a digital camera - this would be a good option. So, if you are also considering of changing or looking into cameras, you could go to iPmart to browse for their awesome lists of cameras.

Now, for some good news to the readers out there!!!! You can now get a RM15 discount with every purchase of RM100 from iPmart till 31st March 2014, and....it's unlimited usage! Here's a discount code for all you lovely lovely readers - 498373LPM to shop in iPmart.

Happy shopping peeps!! XOXO

BookUp - Your One Stop Solution for Cheaper Books!

13:45 becky-wong 0 Comments

We all know how expensive it is to purchase textbook, especially when buying brand new ones. So what would you say, if I tell you now there's an alternative to purchase textbooks which is cheaper and easier? I was being introduced to BookUp, and the concept of this website. What's BookUp? It is an online bookstore that sells secondhand/used books.Their textbooks are typically cheaper than new retail textbooks by 50% or more.

BookUp was started up by Mike Chu, who understands that one of the main issues many students are facing is the high prices of textbooks. With everything increasing in the recent times, the burden of paying for textbooks are also affecting the parents too, especially when they are trying to support their children throughout the education. It is a very simple process to make purchases from BookUp. Just checkout here for the step by step guide.

Apart from buying, you can actually sell your books through BookUp too! Ain't that cool? Save money and make some money AT THE SAME TIME!

By having this platform, it does not only ease up in the financial way, but also benefits the environment. Instead of photocopying books and wasting paper, we could actually save some trees being cut down - as we are now recycling the books.

Hang on! If you think they only have textbooks, then you are very wrong! You could find varieties of books from cookbook to fiction and non-fiction; from English to Malay and Chinese books! What are you waiting for? Checkout the website!

Polyvore: Outfit of the Month

11:20 becky-wong 0 Comments

This is my very first time writing about fashion/outfit. I don't really see myself as a very fashionable person. Instead of following the flow, I'd rather choose something that suits me, an extension of who I am; rather than putting on something that I'm totally uncomfortable with. Moreover, I strongly believe that everyone should find their own style, instead of blindly following the trend. This could cause many "fashion disaster", which could easily be spotted on the street nowadays.

I've decided to have some fun putting up an outfit that I'd like to wear via Polyvore, with shades from Glasses Online.

My Collage

One of the greatest apparels that have been invented are jeans. I seriously think that jeans are so versatile that you could wear them to almost anywhere; and they are really super easy to mix and match. The theme I've chose was pink but with some playful and edgy touch - an outfit that is simple but has some fashion statement into it.

A sweet pink floral cami top from Dorothy Perkins to go with skinny jeans. If you get the right skinny, it totally compliment your curve. To add on a little bit more of that girlie pink to the outfit, I've chosen a pink leather pump from Jimmy Choo to add some elegant into the outfit; bangle and clutch from Kate Spade for a subtle way of playfulness; hoops spikey gold earrings to give the entire outfit a edgy-kind of fashion touch - as I wouldn't want it to be overly girlie. To complete the look with a little extra "diva", throw on a Carrera shades - which you could find in Glasses Online.

I'm kinda addicted to this, after having putting up my 1st fashion collage. It's really fun and you could be as creative as you want!

P/s: I'll be taking part in a "Outfit of the Month" challenge, which will be published on the Facebook page of Glasses Online on the 7th March 2014! Appreciate your Likes!!!!!! *wink wink*
