Wonderbox - April Review

I've heard of the "beauty box" concept since early last year, but they were yet to introduce into the Malaysian market then. Now, there are many talks on the beauty boxes available in Malaysia. Finally, I've decided to get my very first box. Due to many reasons (mostly financial concerns, of course), I did not want to buy all the boxes available in Malaysia. After doing some research, I've decided on WonderBox to be my first beauty surprise at the price of  RM39.90!

I've chosent to ship it to my office, so it was really a pleasant surprise when I received it in the middle of working stress. I could hardly wait to finish work and take a look inside the box!

I love the black and white, which give the box a classy look.

A heart-warming welcome note from WonderBox

They have also included product descriptions, at the back of the welcome notes.

5 products came in the box

Clinelle Skin Smoothing Scrub with Marine Beads - RM26.90
I was a Clinelle user for years and have been thinking of trying out this product. So, I was excited when I saw the scrub in the box. To add on, it came in actual size!

(Left): L'oreal Professional Liss Ultimate Masque - RM67/200ml
Friends who knows me, definitely will say I'm a masque freak. From facial to hair masque, I'm always looking for interesting products to try on. It wasn't in actual size, but came in 75ml (which if you do the mathematics, a 75ml cost about RM25.13)

(Right): L'oreal Professional Liss Ultimate Shampoo - RM79/500ml
I couldn't say much on a shampoo, as I'm very happy with my current brand. However, it does came in the right time -  just nice to bring for a coming trip to Bangkok! Yayy! This, also came in 100ml instead of actual size (which cost RM15.80/100ml, if you do the mathematics).

Timeless Truth Deap See Extract Moisturising Mask - RM10/mask
As "confessed" earlier, I'm totally a masque freak! So just imagine how over the moon I was, when I saw there's a facial mask in it. I can't wait to try out this mask.

Esmeria Organica - Prickly Bear for Normal to Combination Skin - RM39.90/45ml
This came in as a travel set, which also the right size for the right timing! I have been switching my skincare to organics products, if I can help it. Although I would hope WonderBox has chosen their acne prone skin range instead of this, but I'm still a happy little girl! After all, who would say no to new skin care to try on? Definitely not me! LOL! There are 3 products in the travel set: Balancing Cleansing Gel (20ml), Balancing Toner (15ml) and Moituriser (10ml).

Apart from the products, WonderBox has also included some vouchers.

A voucher to Strip with complimentary of free underarm wax treatment. The voucher is valid till end of June, and I'll be saving this till then. ^____^

A cash voucher for Hishop. I have yet to check out the website, but will do so very soon.

WonderBox has definitely heard my prayers! Voucher for facial mask from Timeless Truth!

In conclusion, I was quite satisfy with the April box!

Yama&J @ Jaya One - Japanese Fusion

Finally I managed to sit myself down and finished this review on a new restaurant in Jaya One, Petaling Jaya - Yama&J. The concept of the restaurant was Japanese fusion. So, prepared to experience a twist on their Japanese cuisine.

I was undecisive when to try out their food, but when I found out that they are having 50% off on their lunch buffet, which only cost RM25++ after discount, I called up and made my reservation. +chOo uEi and I went there for our lunch break with my family, as our office is just located in Jaya One area. The waitress informed us that we could order certain dishes that was highlighted "Yellow" from their ala carte menu, as these were already included in their buffet package. I went to check out their raw bar, though they did not a wide selection, but they do have decently-sliced sashimi.

And of course, I'd never give up the chance of having some edamame!

Sashimi Martini with yuzu and wasabi sauce. It has slices of salmon and tune with ebi roll (prawn roll), and there are diced cucumber at the bottom of the glass. I like the sweet yuzu sauce with a hint of wasabi, which wasn't too over-powering.

unagi roll

tempura

Lunch Date: Cinnamon Coffee House @ One World Hotel

20:48 becky-wong 0 Comments

Went to have buffet lunch with my cousins in Cinnamon Coffee House at One World Hotel last Saturday afternoon. It was my first time dining in One World Hotel, and the spread was satisfying!

We were there early (their lunch buffet start at 12pm), so I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures of the surroundings.

i love the pond ^^

Finally, the coffee house open, at 12pm sharp! I was STARVING~~~~

I was kinda starving, hence I did not take any picture of the interior surroundings - except for one precious picture. LOL! The coffee house was bright and we were being seated by the floor-to-ceiling windows, so we had the outdoor view.

Without a second thought, I attacked the Japanese section first.

Assorted sashimi

A small little disappointment was that they did not have sashimi. I'm not too sure was it because we went for a lunch instead of a dinner, or it just wasn't on their list.

Shabu-shabu

The only meat they had (that day) was only beef. I was hoping that my beef would be blanched in shabu-shabu soup, instead of just pure hot boiling water. But, the chef was really friendly, and that was a plus point for me. ^_^

Assorted pickles and edamame

Chilled tofu in soba sauce

Cold soba

Another dish that I regretted of not having a bit more is one if their appetizer - watermelon with cheese.

The ravioli was delicous! The gravy was creamy and their portion was just nice.

One of the dishes that was a bigger disappointment was their roast lamb. I was excited when I was the whole lamb was at the counter. The lamb was cold (slightly below room temperature) and bland.

Last but not least, we attacked the dessert counter. I was never a fan of dessert served in a buffet, as they rarely taste good. But I found a few favorite here.

Doughnut (Top Left) - Am a big fan of doughnut but did not like theirs. It has a weird taste and wasn't fluffy as I would love them to.

American Chocolate Cake (Bottom Left) - LOVE it TOTALLY!!!! The chocolate was bitter-sweet and topped with rasberry!

Fruit Tart (Bottom Right) - 2 things I love about this - strawberry and blueberry. Also, it wasn't too sweet.

New York Cheese (Top Right) - I have always like New York cheese, and I swear I would have ate a few more of this if I wasn't too full.

Chocolate Fountain & Popcorn!

 Durian Cendol

The buffet lunch was around RM65++ per person, if I remember correctly. There were many food dishes that I did not manage to snap some pictures. In conclusion, I'll definitely say that the spread worth every penny spent.
