Mega Alpha Fish Collagen Review

This review should have been posted last month (December), but somehow I just kept sitting on it - my bad. I was lucky enough to be chosen by HiShop to do a review on the Mega Alpha Fish Collagen.

The nutrition facts are listed at the back of the bottle.

Though it is 100% pure fish collagen, unlike some other brands, this doesn't have the unappealing fishy smell to it. I actually took a sip of this without mixing with other beverages, just to make sure that it tasted just fine.

A little scoop came with it inside the bottle. Personally, I think it is always better to provide a spoon or scoop, as most of times, people tend to interpret the measurement a little different. As per the instruction, you are require to consume 5-10gm, which is 1-2 scoops of the collagen powder. A friendly reminder, try not to mix it with hot beverages, as the temperature will destroy the collagen. When I scooped out the powder, I can really feel that they are really fine.

I followed the instruction and consume 1 sccop (5gm) of collage with oatmilk every morning. I'll just mixed them together with warm water, and I'm good to go! Breakfast and beauty drink - both at the same time. Isn't this fast and efficient or what!

So, the results after 1 month of consumption...

I can feel my skin is clearer and brighter, though not that obvious. Also, my scars and pigmentation definitely has lighten compare to before. I was kinda hoping that I could see some effects on my pores, unfortunately, I don't think I see any improvement on this. However, collagen does have different effects on different individuals. If any of you are interested to give this a try, you could purchase this from Hishop at RM198.

Eulogy Writing Competition 2013 Closing Ceremony

00:01 becky-wong 0 Comments

I had the honored to attend the closing ceremony of 2013 Eulogy Writing Competition few weeks back. The competition was organized by Obpedia, Asia's first internet based obituary website, in conjunction with YouthsToday.com to promote Filila Piety among college youths and also to promote English writing in colleges.A little information on Obpedia:

"Obpedia was founded by Kevin Leow and  Jason Cheong. It is a place to create obituary, memorials, pet memorials (that cool!), & sending messages through e-mails and mobile phone. This portal provides a specific site that is interactive for posting information and also acts as a notification service for direct and personal invitation to relatives and friends on information such as location of the funeral wake service, memorial services, religious prayer times, cremation and burial information."

In today's world, many of us have actually lost touch with our roots; some even to the extent of losing touch with their relatives or family members. I'm pretty sure that many people don't know and don't even care what is their origin or where their ancestors came from. Personally, I think this is a very sad scene. After all, we are who we are today because of our ancestors.

"We thought the response would be poor as we felt that the younger generation of Malaysians are generally out of touch of values such as filial piety, but we are glad to be wrong" said Leow.

The winners of the Eulogy Writing Competitions are Jassie Looi, Kum Peng Han, and Lisa Yeo - who came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and won RM 2000, RM 1500 and RM800 respectively. Again, I would like to congrats the winner! ^^

We were honored to have the CEO of Academy Belia, Mr Rahman Hussein, and he has given a very meaningful speech too.

Now, let's move on to the prize giving ceremony!

2nd Runner-up: Lisa Yeo

1st Runner-up: Kum Peng Han
Representative for the winner: Jassie Looi
Group Picture time!
P/s: Apologize for the blur picture(s). I wanted to quickly snap so that I don't get into other people's way and before they move on. =p

Jam & Kaya Cafe @ PJ Palms Sports Center

11:32 becky-wong 0 Comments

Over the weekend, my brother has brought me to very neighborhood-kind cafe - Jam & Kaya Cafe - located inside of PJ Palms Sports Center. For those of you that don't know where the sports center is - it is located same row as the A&W opposite Amcorp Mall, next to Shah's Village Hotel.

The cafe overlooks a swimming pool, and it reminds me a of those neighborhood cafes in Melbourne. The interior is simple and cosy.

You can choose to sit near at the wooden tables and chairs, or...

You could also opt for to cozy corner with the sofas under those pretty lighting.

Same as the deco, their menu are simple and straightforward too.

We all had our lunch before that, so we just went there to have some coffee and chill.

Creme Brulee
I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so never a big fan of creme brulee. After trying their version, I kinda like this dessert. The top was caramelized beautifully, that it was so thin and crispy. The custard has the nice "eggy" taste to it but not sickening sweet.

Coffee Cheesecake
It has the coffee fragrance and the texture was not too bad. I especially love those choco balls on top. They added a hint of sweetness and crunch to the coffee cheesecake.

Pancakes with Caramelized Bananas and Ice Cream

Bananas are delicious, but when you caramelized them - they are super duper delicious! Personally, I think the plate is like a mix and match playground! You could choose your pairing as you eat the pancake - be it with bananas, or ice cream, or jam, or honey, or you want to mix them all in one bite! On a side note, the original menu was actually tropical fruits instead of caramelized bananas; but Joe requested to change it.

Of course you must have some nice coffee to go with all these yummy-licious food! ^^

Espresso

Cafe Latte
Overall, the coffee weren't too bad, and the food were nice. To top all these, the cafe is run by 2 very pretty and friendly ladies! I guess the cafe is kinda like their extension - bright, lively and cozy!

Do drop by and give this place a try. You could enjoy a swim in a nice day, clean yourself up and enjoy a cuppa at the cafe with your family and friends. Isn't that a nice and relaxing way to spend a weekend? For those who don't have a transport, it is just a 3 minutes walking distance from Taman Jaya LRT station.
