Fisherman's Cove @ Starhill Gallery

Any seafood fans out there or even those with passion for food, should really try dining at Fisherman's Cove at Starhill Gallery - if you have yet to. It has been shortlisted as one of the  Best Seafood Restaurants in Time Out KL Food Awards 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012. Though, mind you, the prices are definitely on the higher range.

The place was nicely decorated - bamboos and transparent fishing sail at the side, and fish tanks on the other side. It totally has the feeling of a fishing village. You can opt for the seats at downstairs with the view of their open kitchen, or upstairs for more privacy - still be able to view the open kitchen from the top.

The waiters and waitresses were very attentive and friendly.

After ordering our dinner, we were served with bread to munch on.

The bread were not too bad, but personally, I'd prefer the ones from Lafite and Madisons.

Clam Chowder
The Clam Chowder was creamy and nice - not too heavy for a soup as a starter. In a single spoon you could taste the creaminess of the soup with the clams and sweetness from the corn. I did not take the garlic bread, as I wasn't a big fan of them. =p

I didn't get the name of this dish (I'm so sorry... >.<), but it has a very Cajun-liked taste to it. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the taste was too over-powering for someone like me who really loves aggressive flavours.

Oven-baked Wild Barramundi
My Oven-baked Wild Barramundi was perfecto! So perfect that I'm still craving for it after so many day *DROOOOOL*. The seasoning was kept to minimal as the fish was so fresh, that it doesn't need to be over-seasoned. The skin has a crisp to it and the meat was flaky.

Sizzling Tiger Prawns
The Tiger Prawns were delicious! I only had one bite of the prawn; and the meat was firm and perfectly cooked.

Pan-fried Fillet of Grouper with Pipi Clams
The Pan-fried Fillet of Grouper with Pipi Clams was another star of the night. The fillet was perfectly prepared, as expected, and the clams were juicy and fresh! Yummy! The sauce was flavourful yet wasn't too over-powering for the fish.

At the end of our dinner, we were served with their complimentary assorted desserts.

Assorted Desserts
I like to mentioned the crème brulee - it's a Ginger Crème Brulee. The crème brulee has the nice texture to it, but I wasn't a big fan of ginger, hence the ginger taste was a little too strong for my taste. On the other hand, my brother totally enjoyed it.

Each dishes was within the price range of RM58 to RM90, and our dinner came close to RM400 (after the 25% discount from our YTL Platinum Membership card).  Though it's a more expensive meal, but with the quality I'd say it's definitely worth the price.
