Over the years, different type of Japanese food has been introduced into Malaysia food scene, and Raku Pizza is the new addition tot it. It's located along the busy street of SS15 in Subang Jaya. Don't worry if you'll miss the place, as you can spot the signboard outside of the café and it's next to McDonalds.

Walking into Raku Pizza, you can tell that the owner has stay true to the "minimalist" concept of the Japanese - simple black and white interior yet the place is quite spacious.

Thanks for Food Ink, I was invited to try out Raku Pizza in Subang Jaya. As the name suggested, Raku Pizza offer Japanese-style pizza, so don't expect to have tomato-based pizza here. Instead, you'll have ingredients such as wasabi mayonnaise, onsen tamago, and bonito flakes.

We were lucky to have tried some of their signature pizzas!

Tony Chopper (RM 11.90)
We started off with the Tony Chopper (RM 11.90). A pizza with teriyaki sauce, topped with mushrooms, cheese, shredded seaweed and generously drizzled with Japanese mayo. The crust was thin and crispy, and it was light despite all the mayo on the pizza.

Tokyo Delight (RM 11.90)
Potatoes lovers would love the Tokyo Delight (RM 11.90). It's has curry sauce, cheese, boiled potatoes, sweet corns, mentai mayo, and shredded seaweed. This was one of my happy pizza as I could taste potatoes in every single bite. Yummy!!

Fujjiyama Sunrise (RM 12.90)
Fujiyama Sunrise (RM 11.90) might be "the pizza" here for meat lovers. They have generously topped the pizza with karaage chicken, chicken ham, chicken sausage, and beef pepperoni.

Edo Samurai (RM 12.90)
Edo Samurai (RM 12.90) - Karaage chicken, sweet onion, cheese, bonito flakes, shredded seaweed and drizzled with okonomi sauce.

Raku Pizza is seriously generous with the ingredients on their pizza. Look at the fried chicken and bonito flakes!

Americano Sumo (RM 12.90)
The Americano Sumo (RM 12.90) was one of my favourite dishes of that day. It was packed with my favourite ingredients - cheese, beef pepperoni, sweet onions, sweet corns, wasabi mayo, and shredded seaweed. The other thing that made this pizza so special is the charcoal crust instead of the usual.

Sakurajima Lava (RM 12.90)
Another pizza that uses charcoal crust - Sakurajima Lava (RM 12.90) - Teriyaki sauce, cheese, grilled chicken, sweet onions, onsen tamago, Japanese mayo, and shredded seaweed. I like the runny egg on top of the pizza as it ties the dish together.

Aomori Geisha (RM 11.90)
The Aomori Geisha (RM 11.90) is the vegetarian option that comes with cheese, mixed salad, wakame, tofu, and sesame or yuzu dressing. This is definitely a refreshing and flavourful pizza, with all the crunchy salad and yuzu dressing.

Raku Pizza offers non-pizza options too.

Tama-toji Chicken Katsu Don - RM 11.90(M) / RM 14.90(L)
The Tama-toji Chicken Katsu Don - RM 11.90(M)/RM 14.90 (L) comes with crispy fried chicken fillet covered with cooked egg and onions, and served with their specialty sauce on top of the rice.

Wafu Curry Prawn Katsu Udon (RM 13.90)

For noodles options, they have Wafu Curry Prawn Katsu Udon (RM 13.90). The udon were served hot in Japanese curry sauce with ebi katsu (fried prawns).
