Eat @ J's is a hidden gem in Taman Sea. Instead of the busy commercial shop houses, the owners decided to have their little café in a more quite housing area. Personally, I felt it's a perfect place to have a short getaway from the busy schedule.

The owner (Sue) has spent some time in Melbourne and fell in love with the valley over there. So much so that, she decided to design the café surrounding that idea. Though the place wasn't very spacious, they have kept the interior very simple - brick walls and wooden chairs.

Eat @ J's offer mostly Western dishes such as penne and grilled salmon, but they have specialty dishes such as Lamb Roganjosh with Rice.

Chips (RM 8.00)

Farm Eggs on Toast (RM 16.90)
Our lunch started off with one of their all day breakfast - Farm Eggs on Toast (RM 16.90). Scramble eggs with smoked salmon and fresh tomatoes served on toast. The scramble eggs were light and creamy, and the smokiness in the salmon was just nice. I like the arugula touch on the toast which gave a slight herbaceous and peppery flavour to the dish.

Pumpkin Carrot Soup
I'm a big fan of a creamy pumpkin soup especially if it's a spiced pumpkin soup. The Pumpkin Carrot Soup from Eat @ J's weren't as creamy as I would have preferred and the pumpkin tasted very mild in the soup.

Grilled Salmon (RM 24.00)
This was one of our favourite dishes that day. The Grilled Salmon (RM 24.00) was served on a bed of sautéed spinach, pearl barley and cherry tomatoes. The salmon was perfect - crispy skin and flaky meat!

Honey Balsamic Chicken (RM 19.00)
Another highlight of the day - Honey Balsamic Chicken (RM 19.00). The chicken was juicy and tender. Don't worry if the dish would be too acidic because of the balsamic, as the sweetness of honey balanced out the balsamic vinegar perfectly. Not a single drop of gravy was left on the plate after we finished!

Aglio Olio with Prawns (RM 20.00)
The Aglio Olio with Prawns (RM 20.00) was not as excited compared to the salmon and chicken dish. It was lacking in garlic flavours and could use some extra drizzled of olive oil on it. Despite so, I was very satisfied with the heat that comes with the dish.

Penne Meatball on Tomatoes and Fresh Basil (RM 17.00)
The Penne Meatball (RM 17.00) was generously coated with tomato sauce, and they handmade the meatballs instead of using pre-made ones.

Lamb Roganjosh with Rice
The Lamb Roganjosh with Rice is one of their special dishes, which can be found on their weekday set lunch menu. The lamb was tender but I prefer my lamb to be gamey. Having said so, the spices were flavourful and because the lamb tasted very mild, it's suitable for those who can't take their meat too gamey.

Spicy Deep Fried Chicken Wings - 3pcs (RM 10.50)
At the first bite of the Spicy Deep Fried Chicken Wings - 3pcs (RM 10.50), you could taste the chili padi which was very mild. They have added grounded chili padi into the seasoning, and it gave the chicken wings a very interesting and local flavours.

Since it's a café, there's no way we would go back without trying out their coffee.

Cold Brew Latte (RM 12.00)
Eat @ J's sources different types of beans for their coffee, and one of the highly recommended coffees was the Cold Brew Latte (RM 12.00). The coffee was smooth and had a mild chocolaty taste to it. I'm totally a fan of this!

Not a fan of coffee? No worries!

Hot Chocolate (RM 11.00)
Some nice Hot Chocolate (RM 11.00) for chocolate lovers.

Cold Press Juice (RM 10.50)
Eat @ J's carry a varieties of Cold Press Juice (RM 10.50) from Crush.

Sparkling Juice (RM 10.50)
Sparkling Juice (RM 10.50) from The Tapping Tapir. I felt the Rose Green flavours would be an interesting one to try out.

Gorgeous Geisha (RM 9.90)
The owner recommended the Gorgeous Geisha (RM 9.90).

Brownies with Nuts
The cakes at Eat @ J's were all freshly-baked by themselves. During our visit, Brownies with Nuts was one of their dessert of the day. Personally, I felt the brownies were a tad too sweet and too dry for my liking.

In order to introduce new dishes to their customers, Eat @ J's changes their menu regularly. Also, they offer daily set lunch menu too!

*The food was served differently from their usual portion during our review session due to the big crowd.
