[Food] Piggy Tail @ Bangsar

Couple of weeks ago, I was invited by OpenRice to a food review at Piggy Tail in Bangsar. As the name suggested, pork lover would have a field day in Piggy Tail as they serve premium Sakura pork in their dishes.

The décor at Piggy Tail is simple with al fresco dining area at the front of the restaurant, which would be a good spot to chill after work.

Pork Corn (RM 16.00)
The night was started off with some crunchy Pork Corn (RM 16.00). The pork tendon were peppered with secret spices and deep-fried till crispy, and served with special BBQ mayo. It was one of our favourite dishes, and very addictive. Perfect to pair with chilled beer!
Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 18.00)
The Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 18.00) was creamy and earthy, and they made the soup using 3 different types of mushroom. I like the tiny chunks of mushrooms in the soup.
Premium Pork Aglio Olio (RM 25.00)
The Premium Pork Agio Olio (RM 25.00) was served with grilled sakura pork neck meat, sprinkled with red chili flakes, garlic, olive oil and sliced bacon. The sakura pork was very tender and the dish had a nice heat to it.
Snowy Piggy Carbonara (RM 22.00)
Love creamy food? The Snowy Piggy Carbonara (RM 22.00) might be the dish for you - creamy bacon spaghetti topped with runny egg yolk to gave the carbonara that extra creaminess.
Piggy Pork Shoulder Steak (RM 45.00)
The Piggy Pork Shoulder Steak (RM 45.00) was another favourite of the night. They use very limited premium pork shoulder meat and barbequed it with their house-special BBQ sauce. The meat was very juicy and tender. If you look closely enough, you'll notice a slight pinkish colour middle of the meat but it's normal - that's how the name "Sakura Pork" came about.
BBQ Long Pork Ribs (RM 55.00)
The BBQ Long Pork Ribs (RM 55.00) had a good balance of meat and fat. The ribs were barbequed with their house-special BBQ sauce. Though the ribs were meaty enough, it wasn't really fall-off-the-bone tender.
Spicy Short Pork Ribs (RM 58.00)
The Spicy Short Pork Ribs (RM 58.00) was my personal favourite! A rack of meaty yet tender and juicy premium BBQ short ribs marinated in house-special spicy sauce. If you love spicy food, try this! The spiciness might seem to be very mild at first bite, but give it some time to develop as you eat.
Signature Lamb Chops (RM 45.00)
The Signature Lamb Chops (RM 45.00) was grilled and drizzled with homemade Mongolian sauce. It was slightly gamey (which I like it a lot!) and tender.
Piggy Pork Burger (RM 28.00)
Look at the melted cheese covering the patty of their Piggy Pork Burger (RM 28.00)! The pork patty was fully handmade, and was layered with cheese, vegetables and onion rings. The burger is a little bit tall, so you have to press it down in order to bite or cut into it.

Mixed Pork Franks (RM 30.00)
You can enjoy 3 uniquely spiced pork franks (a.k.a sausages) in their Mixed Pork Franks (RM 30.00) - original, spicy and herb.

Signature Pork Knuckles (RM 86.00)
The Signature Pork Knuckles (RM 86.00) had a perfect crunchy crackling skin yet juicy meat. The mouth-watering knuckle was served with supreme gravy, mash and salad. This is a dish perfect to be shared among pork lover!

Truffles Ice Cream (RM 18.00)
I've had ice cream with bacon and drizzled with chocolate sauce and I thought that was one of the best desserts I've ever had. How wrong was I! I would totally advice you to be adventurous and try out their Truffles Ice Cream (RM 18.00) - smooth vanilla ice cream infused with truffle, drizzled with crispy bacon bits and white truffle oil, and drowned in chocolate sauce. It's a sweet and savoury, smooth and crispy - everything you'd want in a dish!
