As the saying goes "The eyes are the window to your soul". Hence, good mascara that could enhance the eye's beauty is very important, and today I'm going to share with you on SkinSoul Natural Volume Attack Mascara.
 |
| Natural Volume Attack Mascara (RM 206.70) |
The Natural Volume Attack Mascara (RM 206.70) is one of SkinSoul's bestsellers and customers all-time favourite. Staying true to their principal of using harmful ingredients, the mascara is also 100% paraben and prostaglandin free.
One of the key ingredients in the mascara is natural mulberry extract. Natural mulberry extract has been scientifically proven to be rich in polynutrients and vitamins that rejuvenate hair follicles, promote hair growth, retains natural hair colour, and prevents hair fall. It's antioxidant content also protects hair follicles from free radical damage.
Recently, I done a review on SkinSoul's Ultra-Soft Facial Towelettes
here and I was very impressive with the results. I've been given a chance to try the
SkinSoul SkinShield travelling set and I can't wait to see the results!
The main ingredient in the SkinShield range is
Ashitaba, a perennial plant that has thrived for centuries in the rich volcanic soil of Hachi Jo Island in Japan. Ashitaba means "tomorrow's leaf" in Japanese due to the plant's
miraculous ability of self-generating when injured.
1. Hydra-Purifying Cleanser

| Hydra-Purifying Cleanser (RM 210.94) |
The cleanser is packed with skin vitamins and minerals of Ashitaba encapsulated in pure Swiss Glacier Water that gently washes out impurities, excess sebum and pollution while nourishing the skin's softness and suppleness.
After taking some time off from writing beauty post, I'm going to talk about a brand that I've came across multiple times but never tried before - SkinSoul.
SkinSoul was developed by Dr Joanne Au Yong, which is kind to the most sensitive skin while restoring the skin through the miraculous powers of nature. Staying true to their philosophy, their skincare and make-up range are free from ingredients that are harmful to the skin such as Paraben.
The SkinSoul Ultra Soft Facial Towelettes a.k.a Clinical Wipes are formulated with Swiss Glacier Water 4.4.3 - 4 Essential Oils, 4 Antioxidant, and 3 Hydrating & Soothing Ingredients.
The facial wipes claim:
- It takes off everything in one swoop includes waterproof mascara and stubborn make-up.
- It wouldn't clog your pores.
- It wouldn't leave make-up residue on your beloved pillowcase.
- It doesn't irritate the skin or eyes.
- Good for acne-prone and ultra-sensitive skin, and friendly for all skin type.
- Not harsh or over-drying your skin.
- Not greasy, not oily, not soapy and it doesn't sting.
- Skin is fresh, cleansed, hydrated, calmed, smoothed, lifting and moisture after used.
- No artificial perfume, colour, harsh chemicals are added and Paraben and Lanolin free.
- It's simple, easy to and convenient to use just in 1 simple wipe.
The facial wipes are longer in size compare to your usual ones but not as thick. Because of the wipes are not too thick, you can easily tear it into half if you do not need to use the entire to remove your makeup or cleanse your skin.
Eat @ J's is a hidden gem in Taman Sea. Instead of the busy commercial shop houses, the owners decided to have their little café in a more quite housing area. Personally, I felt it's a perfect place to have a short getaway from the busy schedule.
The owner (Sue) has spent some time in Melbourne and fell in love with the valley over there. So much so that, she decided to design the café surrounding that idea. Though the place wasn't very spacious, they have kept the interior very simple - brick walls and wooden chairs.
Eat @ J's offer mostly Western dishes such as penne and grilled salmon, but they have specialty dishes such as Lamb Roganjosh with Rice.
 |
| Chips (RM 8.00) |
 |
| Farm Eggs on Toast (RM 16.90) |
Our lunch started off with one of their all day breakfast - Farm Eggs on Toast (RM 16.90). Scramble eggs with smoked salmon and fresh tomatoes served on toast. The scramble eggs were light and creamy, and the smokiness in the salmon was just nice. I like the arugula touch on the toast which gave a slight herbaceous and peppery flavour to the dish.
 |
| Pumpkin Carrot Soup |
I'm a big fan of a creamy pumpkin soup especially if it's a spiced pumpkin soup. The Pumpkin Carrot Soup from Eat @ J's weren't as creamy as I would have preferred and the pumpkin tasted very mild in the soup.
Over the years, different type of Japanese food has been introduced into Malaysia food scene, and Raku Pizza is the new addition tot it. It's located along the busy street of SS15 in Subang Jaya. Don't worry if you'll miss the place, as you can spot the signboard outside of the café and it's next to McDonalds.
Walking into Raku Pizza, you can tell that the owner has stay true to the "minimalist" concept of the Japanese - simple black and white interior yet the place is quite spacious.
Thanks for
Food Ink, I was invited to try out Raku Pizza in Subang Jaya. As the name suggested, Raku Pizza offer Japanese-style pizza, so don't expect to have tomato-based pizza here. Instead, you'll have ingredients such as wasabi mayonnaise, onsen tamago, and bonito flakes.
We were lucky to have tried some of their signature pizzas!
 |
| Tony Chopper (RM 11.90) |
We started off with the Tony Chopper (RM 11.90). A pizza with teriyaki sauce, topped with mushrooms, cheese, shredded seaweed and generously drizzled with Japanese mayo. The crust was thin and crispy, and it was light despite all the mayo on the pizza.
 |
| Tokyo Delight (RM 11.90) |
Potatoes lovers would love the Tokyo Delight (RM 11.90). It's has curry sauce, cheese, boiled potatoes, sweet corns, mentai mayo, and shredded seaweed. This was one of my happy pizza as I could taste potatoes in every single bite. Yummy!!
Couple of weeks ago, I was invited by OpenRice to a food review at Piggy Tail in Bangsar. As the name suggested, pork lover would have a field day in Piggy Tail as they serve premium Sakura pork in their dishes.
The décor at Piggy Tail is simple with al fresco dining area at the front of the restaurant, which would be a good spot to chill after work.
 |
| Pork Corn (RM 16.00) |
The night was started off with some crunchy Pork Corn (RM 16.00). The pork tendon were peppered with secret spices and deep-fried till crispy, and served with special BBQ mayo. It was one of our favourite dishes, and very addictive. Perfect to pair with chilled beer!
 |
| Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 18.00) |
The Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 18.00) was creamy and earthy, and they made the soup using 3 different types of mushroom. I like the tiny chunks of mushrooms in the soup.
 |
| Premium Pork Aglio Olio (RM 25.00) |
The Premium Pork Agio Olio (RM 25.00) was served with grilled sakura pork neck meat, sprinkled with red chili flakes, garlic, olive oil and sliced bacon. The sakura pork was very tender and the dish had a nice heat to it.

 |
| Day 1: Green Miracle |
Day 1: Green Miracle (RM 28). Consists of lotus root, celery, broccoli, and pear. It's a very refreshing juice, and tasted even better when serve chilled. However, if you are not a fan of celery, then you might not fancy this juice.
 |
| Day 2: High Fiber Pineapple |
Day 2: High Fiber Pineapple (RM 22). One of my favourite juices from the family pack. I can taste the natural sweetness of the pineapple in it!
 |
| Day 3: Passion Fruit Juice |
Day 3: Passion Fruit Juice (RM 36). I love passion fruit but I really don't fancy the sourness of the juice. You can add in some honey to balance out the sourness.
 |
| Day 4: Soursop Juice |
Day 4: Soursop Juice (RM 28). This is another juice that tasted sour, but it's totally fine if you enjoy acidity in your beverages.
 |
| Day 5: Tropicana Juice |
Day 5: Tropicana Juice (RM 30). They have added multiple tropical fruits into it, such as pineapple, mango, banana and few others.
 |
| Day 6: Mango Juice |
Day 6: Mango Juice (RM 20). The mango juice is sweet and you can see from the photo that it's packed with the fruit.
 |
| Day 7: Durian |
Day 7: Durian (RM 38). I had the choice to choose either durian or lychee for my 7th day detox, and I went for the durian juice because don't find durian juice very common. It tasted like durian (duh~~) and the texture is slightly creamy. Personally, I find it to be a very interesting juice.
They have more juices available and you can check out the above for their family pack or drop by their outlets.
Some of you might felt the pricing is a little bit too high for fruit juice, but for normal consumption, you can consume one pack for up to 2 days. However, if you are planning on a detox programme, then you have to following the formula:
Morning
- Drink one glass (300-400ml) of juice without ice.
- Have some light breakfast, unless you are too full for food intake.
Afternoon (BEFORE Lunch)
- Drink one glass (300-400ml) of juice without ice.
- Have a light lunch.
Evening (BEFORE Dinner)
- Do some cardio exercise such as jogging for 25 minutes or warm yourself up in sauna for 15 minutes.
- Drink one glass (300-400ml) of juice without ice.
- Have light dinner.
Stay away from coffee during your detox week, and it's recommended to carry out the program twice a month.
The family pack will come frozen in a box, which is quite heavy! Store the juices in the refrigerator and cut the pack when you are going to consume. If you are not consuming for detox purpose, try to finish each of the pack within 2 days after it has been opened.

How much do you love your curry? I was recently invited by The Butterfly Project for a food review at CoCo Ichibanya Curry House @ 1 Utama. Eating curry throughout the entire dinner? OH YEAH!! I was excited to try it out.
As the name suggested, it's a Japanese curry house and they have established for more than 30 years. They have more than 1,400 branches in Japan and in countries such as USA, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea and many more; and their very first Malaysia outlet is in 1 Utama.
In CoCo Ichibanya, patrons will be able to choose the amount of their rice, spiciness level of the cury, the toppings and if they want additional curry gravy. This place is perfect for everyone! No more worries if some of your family and friends can't take spicy food.
 |
| Beef Yakiniku Curry (RM 23) |
Since they have few levels of spiciness, we started off with the Beef Yakiniku Curry (RM 23), which has the standard spiciness. The heat wasn't too strong and it's suitable if you have a moderate tolerance for spicy food. The beef was tender and the sweetness of the onions goes well with the aromatic curry.
 |
| Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry (RM 26) |
Really can't take spicy food but in the mood for some Japanese curry? Go for the Level 1 Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry (RM 26). This is their signature dish and it's also one of their best seller. The pork cutlet was fried to perfection - crunchy batter and moist on the inside. The omelette added extra creaminess to the dish.
