Leaf & Co. @ Jalan Sultan, KL - A Zen and Relaxing Cafe in KL City Centre
One of the many things that I love about KL
city centre is the old architectures and streets. New and modern buildings
shape the city’s future, but these old structures tell the stories of city that
have been forgotten by many. Among the many streets in KL, I dare say Petaling
Street is one of the popular locations for many – be it tourists or locals. Apart
from checking out the vendors along the famous Petaling Street, the area is
actually a nice spot to do street photography.
Recently, my friends and I spent a day at
the area and we discovered some interesting cafes. One of them is Leaf &
Co. – a café along Jalan Sultan with ambiance and interior design that screams
olden times.
Stepping into Leaf & Co., I was
immediately transported out from the city centre. The kopitiam-style tables and
chairs give out the vibe of the olden day's coffee shop, and the semi-open space
area in the café allows sunlight to shine through. For a minute there we did not feel like we were in the city centre.
Ocean
Catch Croissant (RM 21). Fish fillet drizzled with
Japanese roasted sesame sauce, bonito flakes and seaweed.
Buttermilk
Fried Chicken (RM 21). Am not a fan of fried
chicken, but the buttermilk fried chicken was too good to let go. The batter
was fried till crispy yet not greasy, and the meat was so juicy. We felt the
chicken was already flavourful enough on its own without needing any dipping
sauce.
Spaghetti
with Crispy Chicken Chop (RM 24). Deep fried
chicken chop served with spaghetti in creamy Asian pesto sauce, salad and
Sriracha mayo. The generous portion of this dish will certainly fill you up
throughout the day.
Flat
White (RM 11).
Rose
Tea (RM 12). The caffeine-free rose tea is perfect for non-coffee lover. They even served it with honey at the side for you to sweeten up your tea.
Grapefruit
Mojito (RM 15). Cold fizzy drink is always nice to have especially under the hot weather. The mojito was citrusy with a little bit of sweetness. It even came with an ice pop!
There are so many more signature dishes and drinks at Leaf & Co., but due to its big portion, we were only able to get to 3 of their dishes. In today's world, it is very rare to get cafes in city centre that are still giving out a very relaxing and zen ambiance. Leaf & Co. is the rare few that do! If you are looking for a getaway in KL, why not drop by Leaf & Co. We are sure you'd feel recharged after spending some time at the cafe!
