Ziffy Cafe @ Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara: Cafe Food with A Local Twist
It has been a long long time since I last step foot into Sunway Nexis and when I went there with my friends a few weeks ago, I was surprised to see there are quite a few cafes in there. Among all the cafes in Sunway Nexis, my friends and I ended up at Ziffy Cafe.
Bright and spacious, and I especially like the marble-top at the counter.
The interior has a simple and modern touch to it.
Mini Bao Platter - 3pcs (RM 13). When I saw this it reminded me of What The Bao! that I had in perth. The Mini Bao Platter at Ziffy comes with 3 different choices - chicken, fish & duck.
Dory Bao - Crispy dory fish with tartar sauce. It is like your everyday fish & chips sandwiched in a bun.
Ducky Bao - Teriyaki pulled duck. This is my favourite among all 3 baos. The duck is well-marinated with the teriyaki sauce.
Chicky Bao - Sambal grilled chicken. Don't worry if the bao will be too spicy, as the heat is very mild yet you could still taste the aromatic flavours of sambal.
Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger (RM 25). Instead of the usual burger bun, the soft shell crab is sandwiched in between sticky rice patties in special rendang sauce served with fries and sambal dipping sauce. Pesonally, I could have this dish without the sticky rice patties, but the sambal dipping sauce is THE BOOM! I couldn't stop myself from dipping fries into the sauce.
Ola Quesadillas - Beef (RM 23). Mozzarella cheese-filled tortilla with sauteed onions, capsicums & button mushrooms served with fries. Overall, the quesadillas isn't too bad but unfortunately it got a bit too salty at the end.
I See-Food (RM 31). Ziffy's take on the classic seafood aglio olio! Spaghetti served with tiger prawns, blue mussels, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes and chili flakes.
Seafood Marinara (RM 30). Spaghetti coated with thick and flavourful Napoli sauce served with tiger prawns & blue mussels and topped with Parmesan cheese. The subtle heat of the marinara is very appetizing.
The Boss Mojito (RM 13). I've had carbonated coffee before and didn't really enjoyed it a lot, but the added lemon, lime and mint in The Boss Mojito is very refreshing to have.
Logan Mojito (RM 13). The sweetness of logans along with the minty mint leaves, the Logan Mojito is certainly a perfect thirst quencher.
Matcha Latte (RM 12). The Matcha Latte is ok and nothing much to shout about.
Walking in Sunway Nexis is very hard not to notice this modern-looking cafe. Rather than serving the same old cafe dishes, Ziffy Cafe has put efforts to give their menu a local twist. For a new cafe, Ziffy Cafe definitely has some hits and misses with their dishes, but I'm sure they will get there after some tweaking and fine-tuning in their menu.
