Dr.Morita: Facial Sheet Mask Review
Taking good care of our skin is more than just proper cleansing and applying skin care. Facial mask plays a very important role too. Today, I'm going to talk about 2 facial sheet masks from Dr. Morita - Repair Essence Ultra Slim Facial Mask and Pearl Whitening Facial Mask.
Dr. Morita originated from Taiwan, where the Morita Department Store was opened in 1935. After years of researches and development, Dr. Morita set up a research centre in Japan in 2000, with the help of Japanese technology. Facial mask products were developed and sold. In 2004. the brand expanded the scale of production in Taiwan and developed facial masks based in medical concepts.
Dr, Morita was awarded Best Facial Mask in 2008 and 2009 from the Watson pharmaceutical chain stores in Taiwan, It was also become a very popular brand in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and became the No.1 facial sheet mask in less than 2 years.
I had the chance to try out 2 of their facial sheet masks, and let's start with the Repair Essence Ultra Slim Facial Mask (personally, I called it "snail mask"~~~).
There are 5 pieces of mask in one box, and the mask contains:
a) Hydrolyzed Yeast Extract: Give you supple, firmed and moisturized skin.b) Snail Secretion Filtrate: Moisturizes and repairs the skin, and actively helps in promoting skin cells regeneration for a youthful glow!
c) Organic Buddleja Davidii Extract: Reduces the loss of skin's natural production of hyaluronic acid, thereby making the skin more supple and moisturized. Contains anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antioxidant properties and helps in capturing free radicals, which is responsible for aging and tissue damage.
d) Organic Peucedanum Ostruthium Leaf Extract: Suitable for soothing sensitive skin and has repairing efficacy.
The sheet mask is really thin and almost transparent. As for the size, I would say the mask sit considerably comfortable on my face. Same as the usual facial sheet masks, there was slight fragrance to the sheet mask. Though, personally I would prefer facial masks that do not have any fragrance or have very very minimal fragrance to it. In addition, the essence get absorbed easily and did not leave any sticky residue on the skin.
I think my skin looks less dull after using the mask, and felt more supple too. Somehow, it seems brighter too.
Next, is the Pearl Whitening Facial Mask!
As the name suggested, the mask has some sort of whitening effect. Same goes to the Pearl Whitening Facial Mask, it comes with 5 pieces of sheet mask and it contains:
a) Tranexamic Acid: New generation of whitening ingredient in evening out skin tone and has brightening effect.b) Pearl Powder, Maris Sal (Hydrolyzed Pearl): Dilute the dull and brightened up the skin tone.
c) Alpha-Arbutin: Effectively keeps skin bright and clean.
d) Hyaluronic Acid: Ultra moisturizing factor, sustainable all-day deep hydration to lock in moisture, making the skin supple, firm and smooth.

Apart from feeling more hydrating, I don't see much results from this masks. Probably I would need to apply the mask a few more times in order to see more visible results.
USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:
I believe most of us know how to use a facial sheet mask, but just in case you are not too sure - cleanse your face thoroughly before apply the mask. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes (DO NOT USE LONGER THAN THAT!!). Remove the mask and gently massage around the face for the essence to be fully absorbed by the skin. Not necessary to rinse off.

Dr, Morita complete range of products are now exclusively at Guardian pharmacy nationwide! The facial masks retails at RM 22.90 whereas the facial watery cream/sleeping masks are priced at RM 39.90. I would say the pricing are quite reasonable.
