Located near Friendcino at Damanara Perdana, is a newly opened Japanese restaurant - Yuzen Japanese Restaurant. The chef and owner, Mr Machi, has had 15 years of experience in Japanese cuisine and he wanted to share his passion for Japanese food with the public.

All of the raw ingredients would be sourced and bought by the chef himself, and they would take the extra miles to make their own sauces too.

Omakase Sashimi (Market Price)
I believe when it comes to Japanese food, most of us would definitely go for their sashimi or sushi. In order to satisfy the sashimi lovers, Yuzen offers Omakase Sashimi (Market Price), where you'll be able to taste different varieties. The selections on their omakase will depend on what ingredients the chef able to purchase from Japan, so what you get might be different from what we had. Apart from the usual salmon and tuna, I was very glad to see sea urchin (Uni) and scallop (Hotate) on the place. These are 2 of my favourites whenever it comes to sashimi. The ingredients were really fresh. The would place their order twice a week, so if you want to have fresher and more selections then you should drop by on Tuesday and Saturday; because that's when they'll receive the fresh produce.

Apart from the usual wasabi, we were served with their in-house concocted wasabi, which was perfect to pair with sashimi. Compared to the normal wasabi, this has a little more heat to it. We were told that certain restaurant in Japan would serve this special wasabi to their patrons, in order to bring out the natural taste of the fresh seafood.

Omakase Nigiri Sushi (Market Price)
Our next course was the Omakase Nigiri Sushi (Market Price). We were served with 9 different types of sushi - Salmon Roe, Sea Urchin, Tuna, Tuna Belly, Ankimo and many more. Same as the sashimi, they were fresh and delicious. The selections might be different depends on the type of fish and seafood they purchase from Japan.

Tuna Tataki Avocado (RM 22)
Tuna Tataki Avocado (RM 22) - thinly sliced seared tuna served with avocado, fresh greens and sesame mayonnaise. This is a perfect appetizer if you are looking for something light yet flavourful to kick start your meal. The sesame mayonnaise blended perfectly, and wasn't over-powering the tuna.

Crab Meat Salad (RM 22)
Crab Meat Salad (RM 22). The salad was served with fried salmon skin to give the dish extra texture, and the crunchy greens cut down the heaviness of the dish.

Surume Ika Teriyaki (Grilled Squid) (RM 20.50)
Personally, I felt the Surume Ika Teriyaki (Grilled Squid) (RM 20.50) was one of the highlights throughout the meal. The squid was grilled to perfection served with dipping sauce made of squid roe. The squid was pleasantly chewy, and the dipping sauce was packed with the flavours from the squid. If you are a squid lover, this is a MUST ORDER!

Chicken Teriyaki (RM 13.50)
Chicken Teriyaki (RM 13.50). Compared to the usual chicken teriyaki, this was very different. The chicken was fried till crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, drizzled with their in-house special teriyaki sauce. Usually, teriyaki sauce has a very "aggressive" flavours, but theirs were light and have a slight sweetness to it. I could eat the entire plate of this!

Crab Meat Chawan Mushi (RM 10)
Seafood Chawan Mushi (RM 10)
We ended our meal with some amazing chawan mushi. The steam-egg was silky smooth, and the broth was flavourful. We were told by the chef that they would boil their in-house clear broth for 6 hours and steamed the egg with it.

Overall, we had really amazing lunch at Yuzen and I felt the restaurant is worth dropping by. Although the pricing might be a little steep for some, but I think it's worth the money spent. After all, it's always good to pamper our taste buds once in a while with some good food.

If you are going in a big group or would like some privacy, you can always request to be seated at the private room. I did not step into the rooms, but I was told the lightings were a bit dark.

They provide lunch menu and dinner set too.
